Francesco Ardini was born in Padua, Italy, 1986.
He lives and works in Padua and Nove, Italy.
In 2011 he graduated in architecture, specialising in landscape architecture, at Venice Iuav university.
He became interested in ceramics during his university studies.
A self-taught ceramic artist, he has developed powerful techniques by working on the material’s sculptural qualities, in order to obtain a sense of precarious beauty in his sculptures and installations. The passage of time, the imprint of tradition, the dialogue with artisans, and the tension that binds these parts together have become the focus of his work.
In recent years he has approached experimenting with other industrial waste materials by putting sustainability at the center of his works.

acetate, metal structure original from the factory
In my practice, through the use and misuse of material I am in search of organic sensations.
Acetate has a surprisingly organic feel. I want to work it raw, as an animal skin with tools that I can take from the factory. My aim is to create something primitive and personal yet industrial.

acetate
I want to use raw acetate and connect it to iconic elements of the factory.
With sheets of acetate made in the laboratory I want to create a constellation where each ephemeral spherical planet is made by employees.

recycled acetate, metal structure original from the factory
I want to create a visual time machine using sheets of acetate.
I want to give to time a volumetric density.
I want to give to it a rhythm by repetition.
Something to contemplate. something to touch.

acetate, chairs from the factory
Connections with body and sensual allure are always present in my works.
Raw acetate is very a sensational material to work with. I want to play with acetate extrusion in its pure, milky, natural color.
I want to use it over some old chairs and mould it when it is still malleable.
I will create collapsing bodies on chairs, defeated by time.
